The Customer Menu Through the Customers Menu you can add, edit and delete customer information. Clicking on any of the images below will open a larger version in a new window. Creating a New Customer Let's add a customer named Bob Jones, who has five hundred dollars cash down payment, a trade in with a working appraisal figure of twenty-two hundred dollars, and a thirty-six fifty payoff. Customer Credit![]() Now, from the brief five liner credit app that Bob has given us we think that naming Bob an A credit tier will give us the type of estimate results that will be appropriate for him. Of course all the basis for all financial assumptions is completely controlled by the dealership. We need to be sure that on a dealership level we generally agree by what is meant by an A customer as compared to a B. As long as there is a level of consistency between the APR/Finance table, the Factory Incentives table, and what we call the credit worthiness of a customer credit level A or B, the payment range estimates will be accurately prepared. Pricing Levels The Price Level box lets you pick whichever particular plan of profitability is appropriate for this customer's payment estimates. Like all the assumptions tables, these settings are completely controlled by the dealership. In this example, we have set up R to refer to Retail Pricing, S to Sale Price, P for Preferred Pricing, perhaps to match internet pricing, and Q for customers that we want to quote as close to invoice or cost as we possibly can afford. Dealer management decides to quote Bob at price level S. Leasing and Balloons Some customers and dealerships have decided to avoid lease or balloon payment calculations. Other dealerships embrace the idea of putting the customer on a shorter term trading cycle. Bob has said he's comfortable with whatever will give him the lowest payment and the best buy. We also subtracted seven points from his residual adjustment because Bob normally drives a fairly high number of miles per year. We also selected NO to including Bob's tax and tag fees in his initial payment estimate. Create the Customer We now click on Create. Final Steps Bob's PDA ID is now generated, and he is #64. On this final screen, we can add any custom APR Bob may have, for example rates from his Credit Union, and any applicable coupons. We will discuss these in more detail later. Next - The PDA |
